Mr. Hicks has 37 years of architectural and planning experience in New Mexico with 30 years as President of his own firm with a staff of 10. He is a Registered Architect certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and registered in NM, AZ and CO. During his years of professional experience he has served as Principal-In-Charge on many medical, educational, religious, residential, financial, municipal, and corporate facilities. Prior to starting his own firm in 1980, he interned for 6 years with other Albuquerque firms. He expands his base of expertise through ongoing and continuing education courses.

Hicks' experience as Principal-In-Charge for a wide range of project types and clients provides his clients with unique expertise. He has provided services of master planning, programming, and design for major clients on a long-term basis. As a team leader, he performs the essential command and control functions of setting project direction, managing resources, making decisions, and enforcing performance standards. Mr. Hicks reviews each of the firm's projects as a quality control process prior to distribution of the work. With his experience in providing facility management, planning, and architectural services for clients with as much as 1,150,000 SF of facilities, Mr. Hicks offers his clients organized and effective large scale facility planning and management.

Mr. Hicks brings many special skills to the firm's projects. Prior to studying architecture, he served as a social worker and worked as a teacher on the staff of a school for emotionally disturbed children. He began his professional architectural career in 1974 while completing his Masters in Architecture. When he established this firm in 1980, he pursued human service oriented projects. Projects that promote basic human needs, such as the pursuit of quality healthcare and education, became the foundation of the business. Mr. Hicks shares his passion for these projects with his clients. Mr. Hicks is energized by the challenge of helping his clients fulfill their organizational vision.

Mr. Hicks has provided expert witness, conflict resolution, arbitration, and mediation services on several projects. As a professional architect in the State of New Mexico, he has been hired to present his professional opinion on the performance of architectural and construction services on several projects.
